Read the label. Know the action.

Visa-free, eTA, eVisa, visa on arrival and consular visas are different permission routes. Use the label to understand the next step, then verify it with the destination authority.

No visa application before travel. Passport validity, stay limits, purpose and border checks still apply.

02

eTA / ESTA

Digital permission to travel for eligible visa-exempt visitors. Approval is required before departure.

03

eVisa

A formal visa applied for online. It is still a visa and can require documents, fees and processing time.

04

Visa on arrival

Permission obtained at the border. Eligibility, fees, documents and queues can apply.

05

Consular / sticker visa

An application handled by an embassy, consulate or authorised visa centre, often with documents and biometrics.

06

Transit visa

A connection can have its own permission rules, even when the final destination does not require a visa.
